mEGFP Fused to Human VE Cadherin

mEGFP Fused to Human VE Cadherin

mEGFP is a monomeric variant that was derived by introducing the A206K mutation into EGFP. The cells presented in the digital image above are shown expressing a mEGFP fusion tag with VE (vascular epithelial) cadherin, highlighting inter-endothelial cell junctions. A member of the cadherin family of adhesion molecules, VE cadherin is generally believed to play a significant role in the maintenance of endothelial permeability.
