mCerulean Fused to Human Lamin B1

mTurquoise Fused to Human Lamin B1

The cyan fluorescent protein mTurquoise is a monomeric form of the high performance ECFP variant known simply as Cerulean, which was named for its color. mTurquoise is one of the most useful Aequorea-based derivatives that has been developed, and it is particularly useful in FRET investigations when coupled with a yellow-emitting florescent protein. In the image above, the localization of mTurquoise fused to human lamin B1 is demonstrated. Lamin B1 is a member of the nuclear lamin family of proteins that form the two-dimensional matrix positioned adjacent to the inner membrane of the nucleus.
