tdTomato fused to Rab5a

tdTomato fused to Rab5a

Tandem dimer tomato (tdTomato) fluorescent protein is an "mFruit" member that is one of the brightest variants yet generated. This derivative performs surprisingly well in fusions considering that it is twice the size of a monomer. The spectral profile of tdTomato is similar to rhodamine-based synthetic fluorophores. The fusion partner, Rab5a is a member of the RAS oncogene family.
