mTurquoise Fused to Human Cytokeratin

The cyan fluorescent protein mTurquoise is a monomeric form of the high performance ECFP variant known simply as Cerulean, which was named for its color. mTurquoise is one of the most useful Aequorea-based derivatives that has been developed, and it is particularly useful in FRET investigations when coupled with a yellow-emitting florescent protein. Cytokeratins are a complex family of polypeptides with molecular masses that range from 40 to 68 kiloDaltons. They are usually considered to fall into one of two subfamilies: acidic type A or neutral-basic type B.
