mTFP1 Fused to Human Zyxin

Monomeric teal fluorescent protein (mTFP1) is a bright and photostable variant with excitation and emission spectra located between those of cyan and green fluorescent proteins (thus the name teal). The cytoskeleton and focal adhesions were targeted in a culture of HeLa cells shown above with mTFP1 fused to human zyxin, a zinc-binding phosphoprotein. Zyxin, which in humans is encoded by the ZYX gene, concentrates at focal adhesions and along the intracellular actin cytoskeletal network.
