Mouse Stomach Tissue
The digital image in this section features a three-dimensional reconstruction of mouse stomach fundus tissue stained with Alexa Fluor 350 (wheat germ agglutinin; highlighting lectins), Alexa Fluor 568 (phalloidin; labeling actin filaments), and SYTOX Green (nuclei) is depicted. In the more recent years, it has become possible to distinguish multiple 5-HT receptors by molecular cloning. The isolation of the gene Serotonin Receptor Like (SRL) of a mouse, which encodes the stomach fundus serotonin receptor 5-HT, has proved to have a unique intron distribution and has distinguished the 5-HT receptors from other family members of receptors tied to G-proteins.
