Mouse Stomach Fundus Tissue - 40x
The digital image above is a reconstruction of thick optical sections of mouse tissue taken from the fundus region of the stomach. The fundus is located above and to the left of the esophageal opening. The rounded gastric region, which is histologically similar to the corpus of the stomach, functions in the short-term storage of undigested food and provides an area for gases produced by digestion to accumulate.
